Aaron "Barndolito" Barndollar

Aaron has been on the Detroit music scene for over ten years now. In those years he has become known as one of the areas top young percussionists.

Born in Los Angeles, and raised in Southwest Detroit in a culturally diverse environment of music and art, Aaron developed a strong love of music of all kinds, and tries to incorporate that feeling and tradition into his playing.

Along with being a founding member of the local bands Jiant, and the Latin Jazz group Saoco, Aaron has been all over the Detroit music scene with groups including; Y.O.U., Diversity, The Drum Collective, Bluecat, The Charles Bannister Drum Ensemble, Cesar Pena's Tropidelic, Larry Fratangelo's Drum Devils, and The Wayne State University Chicano-Boricua Choir…even an impromptu jam with Motown legend Martha Reeves! Aaron's diverse musical tastes and proficiency with his instruments gives him the ability to mesh with nearly any musical situation. He has been fortunate enough to have studied with some of the world's most amazing percussionists such as; local drummer/teacher Charles Bannister, renowned afro-musicologist Dr. Juma Santos, and the worlds leading conguero, Giovanni Hidalgo. The knowledge he has gained from these masters, coupled with years of practice and dedication are the reasons for Aaron's continued success.
